The College Park Aviation Museum is excited to announce that it will be hosting an art contest to celebrate the Centennial of the first Airmail flight that took off right here at the College Park Airport. Please use our Airmail presentation and exhibits here at the museum to fuel your creativity, good luck and have fun!
Kindergarten- Middle School participants are tasked with creating an Airmail themed postage stamp to commemorate and celebrate this momentous occasion in both College Park’s history and USPS’s history.
High school & up are tasked with creating a Pictorial Postmark which will commemorate and celebrate this momentous occasion in both College Park’s history and USPS’s history.
The First Place Entry- will have their design turned into a College Park Aviation Museum stamp that will run for a limited time.
Top Five Entries- will be put on display at the U.S. Postal Museum.
All Entries- will be on display in the College Park Aviation Museum’s Airmail Centennial exhibit beginning July 23rd, 2018. The display period will run for a currently undetermined amount of time. Please call the museum staff if the artist is unable to display the work for at least three months.
Certification for Contestants Under 18
A parent, guardian or art teacher must certify the authenticity of the artwork and the age of each artist.
