Joint Public Hearing on the Preliminary East Riverdale-Beacon Heights Sector Plan
On May 4, 2017, the Prince George’s County Planning Board granted permission to print the Preliminary East Riverdale-Beacon Heights Sector Plan for public review and approval, and to transmit the public facilities report to the County Executive and District Council for their review and identification of any public facilities inconsistencies.
The Prince George’s County Planning Board and The Prince George’s County Council held a Joint Public Hearing on the Preliminary East Riverdale-Beacon Heights Sector Plan on Tuesday June 20, 2017.

A new sector plan is underway for the communities that surround two planned Purple Line stations-East Riverdale and Beacon Heights. The sector plan area includes 1,340 acres and the eastern portion of the Town of Riverdale Park. This area is bounded by the Anacostia River Stream Valley Park and east branch of the Anacostia River to the west, Greenbelt National Park to the north, Veteran's Parkway to the east, and the neighborhoods of Riverdale Heights, Riverdale Hills, Crestwood, Templeton Knolls, Eastpines, and Beacon Heights to the south.
